Boutique wines grown near to the Historic market town of Olney in North Buckinghamshire
Our story
After a great deal of thought or perhaps a moment of madness John & Fiona planted Stonepit Vineyard in April 2018 on a gently sloping south facing field over a limestone bed.
The vineyard name ‘Stonepit’ Vineyard came about as it is said this was the original name of the farm before the Diocese of Lincoln College Oxford took ownership and re-named it Rectory Farm.
The vines have been nurtured through the ensuing years leading to the first harvest or Vintage being hand picked on the 13th April 2021.
Our aim is to produce some Boutique wines, White, Red and Rose and from summer 2024 Sparkling White and Rose. The White Wine is made from the Bacchus grape, the Red from the Regent grape and the Rose from a post fermentation combination of both varieties.
We were very fortunate to win Gold Medals for our White & Rose the latter being featured on the BBC radio’s Bill Buckley Show this Autumn.
We aim to market the wines locally. Our first summer open days and private tastings proved to be popular so watch out for the summer 2023 schedule.
